always so good to see you! i was thinking just the other day that we haven’t had a visit in awhile. i got some coffee left or i could make a fresh batch if ya like or i got some sweet tea in the fridge and i cut up some fresh lemons this morning. hope you have been doing extra good and your family fat and sassy. how is work going? ours is going good too. slip your shoes off and have a seat and lets visit a spell. you know you can’t be in a hurry when your visiting at the ranch. i always get kinda antsy this time of year. it is so close to fall you can almost smell it in the air. makes ya want to start watching charlie brown and yall know i do love me some charlie brown ever since i was a little bitty thing. lots to do this time of year. we got to start filling the woodshed for winter soon. and we need to get the new chicken house built. like my grandma ola use to say…” all in god’s time.” gensis 8:22 “ as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease. “ i have been thinking about something…we have a little duck pond in the court yard but its not very big. i posted a picture of it in last week’s blog. i put alissa marie’s statue by it. i just felt like it belonged there. but i would like a little bigger pond maybe with some fish out behind the ranch house. i miss the big pond we had at the old place. uncle gregg and the kids fished in that thing all the time. once i get the ranch fenced in all the way i want to get a couple of geese. a pond would be so nice for them too. but i don’t know if i could afford it. do yall know anyone that would dig the pond for the dirt? before i forget, when it gets time to transplant trees this fall, i have some baby magnolia trees if anyone would like one or two. i may have some baby cedar trees as well. i will have to look and see but yall are welcome to some of those too just let me know and i will get jake to help me dig them up for you. i have been working on a couple of short sermons this week. one is finished but i am still working on the second one. i love working on them and spending that time studying god’s word. i wanted to take just a moment to say thank you to all of you who took the time to like us on twitter, pinterest and facebook. and a big thank you to yall that joined our facebook group and shared us with your friends. it is so wonderful to get a chance to speak with yall. your love and support is such a blessing to me and the family, the ranch and most important, this new ministry! hope you had a wonderful week and weekend at work and with your family. we had a busy and rainy week at the ranch. we spent a couple hours yesterday morning learning to put down marble tile flooring. i am really excited about actually getting to do it! i have so many projects now that i want to try with tiles. we got to spend all yesterday afternoon with our sheila doin nothing important and having a marvelous time at it! anytime we get family time is so precious. i know yall go through the same thing juggling work and home life as we do! there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything i want to do! yall i drive almost an hour (sometimes more depending on traffic) to and from work everyday. i use that time to spend with god, to pray and reflect on the things that are going on in my world and in the lives of my dear friends and loved ones. god put it in my heart to talk to yall about forgiveness today…. in my life experiences i have done some good works and some bad. and like everyone i have done things i am not proud of. but you know god has a way of using everything. i now look at those times as me working on my sermons for you. along my path i have encountered people who were always loving and supportive and then there were some folks of course who were not. this is what i want to talk to you about today…. mark 11:25 “forgive them even if they are not sorry.” sometimes this is not an easy thing to do. especially if it is a family member, spouse or a friend. someone that is suppose to love you or care about you. luke 6:28 “bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” we are to forgive those who are against us. we are to pray for those who are against us. god does not mean for us to stay in any situation or to keep anyone in our lives that is continually harmful to us. if they are not for you, if they are looking for ways to bring you down and come against you… it is ok to let them go. numbers 6:26 “the lord turns his face toward you and gives you peace.” faith is seeing light with your heart when all your eyes see is darkness. trust in god. he truly loves you and is always there for you no matter what the situation or circumstance. and we love ya too! i can here the thunder rolling across the field again. looks like the rain is back and falling. even the ducks are wondering when its going to stop. our little duck pond here at the ranch is over flowin. well we sure have enjoyed your visit with us today on our front porch. you come back and see us again real soon. always a special treat to get to spend some time with you. hopefully next week we will have our sermon videos up and rolling. yall please stay safe and tell the family we all said hey!! i was hoping you would come by. i made a big pitcher of sweet tea, its in the frig and i just emptied and refilled the ice trays so we have plenty of ice! you can help yourself. your always at home here with us. i do hope you had a good week since we talked last. i have had a “too busy” week to say the very least. with my trying to make a living working outside of the ranch, and squeezing in time for the family and chores there is just not much time left over for anything else. it feels like i am going non stop a lot of the time. i know a good many of yall understand what i am talkin about there. i am sure you have to juggle your schedule as well. i have been doing alot of praying about that lately. i sure hope i get better at it. there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done sometimes. as i write this i realize its almost dog days….last week of july, all of august and the first week of september. hottest and most humid part of the year. i can hear granddaddy saying that little poem… dog days bright and clear indicate a good year; but with gray clouds and rain, we hope for better times in vain. our bible says.. isaiah 41:13 for i am the lord your god who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; i will he
